Finding Green Tea

I’ve never liked it. Green tea that is. I have been stocking a wide range of herbal teas from Pukka Herbs for a while now, and have worked my way through most of them, but the Green Tea has always been my nemesis. I know I should drink it for all its amazing properties, but it’s just so….. odd! An acquired taste, or so I have been told. I was reluctant to try again, but today I have become a convert! Pukka Herbs have brought out four new teas…all blends of Green. I have tried them all, and I’m most surprised. The Serene Jasmine Green Tea is a little too ‘flowery’ for me but the others are amazing. Supreme Matcha Green Three green teas blended with Matcha powder. Clean Green Green tea with lemon, fennel, dandelion and nettle. Serene Jasmine Green Green tea blended with jasmine, chamomile and lavender Cool mint green Green tea and Mint, lovely for aiding digestion after dinner.

A cup of green tea

I didn’t realise that green tea contains a small amount of caffeine (approximately 20-45 milligrams per cup), compared with black tea which contains about 50 milligrams and coffee with 95 milligrams per cup.

This powerful little liquid is considered one of the world’s healthiest drinks and contains the highest amount of antioxidants of any tea. The natural polyphenols in tea are what are thought to provide its anti-inflammatory and anti-carcinogenic effects.

All in all, if you haven’t yet tried it, give it a go. Ask for a free sample when you next visit.

£2.30 per box of 20 bags…and £2.50 for the Matcha Green Tea..The most super of super teas!
