Just do it!

I’ve always found it hard to understand why people are slow to take advice, when it’s quite apparent the information they are being given would really help them. It’s taken me years to not take it personally and to just sit back and wait. This is one of those times when people are hearing about something in the news and now they are asking me about it, rather than me telling them. I guess it’s all about timing. Now it’s all about curcumin. AKA Turmeric.

Every body is different.

Everyone comes to things at a different time, and everyone is entitled to walk their own path. But sometimes it’s so frustrating! I am a huge fan of juicing as you may know, but I don’t live on it! I juice as an addition to my diet, and I do appreciate that not everyone wants a juicer. Some people have a Nutribullet. Go with what works for you, but please look at the bigger picture. If you have aches and pains, and digestive issues, you don’t need to suffer. Help is out there, but you need to take the steps towards helping yourself too. If you continue to eat too much refined carbohydrate, live on coffee and never make your ‘five a day’, you can’t expect your body to ever feel any better.

Start your day the easy way.

Anti-inflammatory Ginger Shot

Juice a whole batch if you are pushed for time.

If you are prone to colds, asthma, digestive issues and skin disorders, you can help yourself so easily. Starting your day with hot water ginger and lemon is a great way to wake up the digestive system, and help support the immune system – although a Ginger Shot from your juicer, would be even more powerful!

These things don’t take long and hardly cost anything at all. Just get in to a routine. If you really can’t find time to make a Ginger Shot in the morning, make up a whole batch and freeze them in ice cube trays. As a general rule, it’s half an inch of ginger to one apple. Pull one out of the freezer before you go to bed, pop in a glass and leave in the fridge. If you can’t take cold drinks in the morning, then leave it at room temperature. It won’t hurt.

If your juicer has been put at the back of the cupboard, get it out and dust it off. Re-visit this old post to learn a little more. You only have one body. Look after it.

Take the Curcumin as another example.

I’ve been extolling the virtues of this amazing find for a few years now. This active part of the spice Turmeric, has superb anti-inflammatory properties and is a great aid to cancer support. (We can’t say ‘anti-cancer’ any more.) It helps with digestion and is a powerful antioxidant. If you read the previous blog, you will see that it is tricky to digest. It’s not ‘bio-avaliable’ and needs some tricks, especially if you are using it as a fresh root. But now, we are finding easier ways of taking it. So I have ditched the fresh yellow stainer in my juicer, and I’m taking little liquid capsules. I think they are amazing, but I am aware there are others on the market. It’s important to find a brand that is the ‘new generation’. Check the quality, and check how bio-available it is.

Curcumin is a aproven anti-inflammatory

This is the perfect time to look at your nutritional needs.

Clients who have ailments that could be helped by this, are now coming in saying they have seen Turmeric/Curcumin on the TV and in the newspapers, so I’m hopeful as the media catches up, more people will be ready to try it. This isn’t always a quick fix though. As with any change to the diet, you really need a three month run at it. It’s also not something that you drop  when you feel better. As with Juicing, these are lifestyle and health choices that should be part of you. Just like making a cup of tea and having a shower.

You don’t have to suffer. Nor do you have to think that everything is ‘your age’ and you have to put up with it. As you body changes and lifestyle alters, so should your diet and sometimes supplements are needed. Good ones!
