So what IS Reiki?
Universal Energy.
The life force energy that resides within every being on the planet every atom, every molecule….. REI is the Japanese word meaning ‘universal’ and is also a reference to the higher dimension of light and the soul.
KI means ‘vital life force energy’ which interpenetrates and connects all.
Reiki is not just for those wanting to learn to channel the energies themselves…..It is also ‘received’ as a treatment in many salons and holistic therapy centres.
Ailments can be treated and emotional imbalances causing stress can be reduced. Detoxification is increased, so Reiki can help greatly with the removal of toxins from Chemotherapy and anesthesia. Reiki is unconditionally healing for the body and mind and will flow to wherever is needed within the body. It is always given for the ‘Highest Good’ of the recipient.
This beautiful energy has become more widely used and understood in the West over the past 20 years although it was rediscovered in the East in the late 1800’s. It is a gentle way of moving energy through the body to enable self healing and the healing of others, pets and even vitalising food and even plants. The possibilities are endless and the more people that are attuned to this beautiful energy, the healthier and more calm we will all become, able to deal with out every day lives much more easily.
There are many different ways of applying healing to yourself and others and Reiki is just one of them. Many ofl these methods use the same universal energy. The energy that your belief system may understand as God, Buddha, The Source, even ‘The Universe’ are the same energy, although the ways in which they are applied, and the theories concerning them, differ greatly. The basic conditions required for making use of this energy are also very different. Some of the systems take years of training and practice, others require long drawn out exercises to be performed before energy can be channeled. Reiki is an incredibly safe healing modality that can be used for a wide range of ailments and emotional issues. It can be sent through time and space in ‘distance healing’ which is a very useful skill to acquire.
As a treatment it is extremely relaxing and balancing, and most salons now offer Reiki in half hour and hour sessions. Sometimes it will be included in Aromatherapy, massage and in my clinic it flows naturally when I do Hot and Cold Stone Treatments. Reiki even flows while you receive facials…and why not?
Reiki is the greatest teacher for those who are willing to listen and learn. Much more will be gained from your experience with Reiki and life, than ever could be written or described. If you move into the natural flow of this healing, balancing and revealing energy, your life can take on a deeper meaning.
