Thanks to the Snake

If you follow the Chinese Zodiac, you may have heard that we are leaving the year of the snake, and moving into the year of the horse. It's a cycle. There are twelve animals moving through their own year. We say goodbye to the snake on 12th February.
As we have become much more multicultural and have embraced many different calendars, from the moon phases through to the numerology of a specific year, we can now see how things interlink.
Personally 2025 has been a tricky one. I didn't realise it was the year of the snake until it was mentioned a few weeks ago, and now it all makes sense! A time for transformation, shedding and rebirth.
If you have followed my newsletters over the last few months, you will know that my skin took a battering after an encounter with a collagen supplement. You can't get much more of a shedding than having your whole face covered in blisters, but it goes deeper than that.
Energetically I am ending an era.
I stop treating clients very soon. I had planned to bring everything to completion at the end of December, but there is now a little wiggle room as we haven't yet sold the house.
For those new readers, I will explain - My holistic therapy client base was significantly reduced after 'lockdown', while the Energy Art side of my work started to really evolve. I've been treating clients for nearly forty years, and it's been amazing. I have grown, and therapies have change so much! I started as a beauty therapist back in the eighties, when there were no gel nails or botox!
As times continue to change, so do we. During the quiet times of 2020, I was able to begin to create work that can change the dynamics of a space. Pieces of art that can speak to the room, reach into your soul and emit a frequency that work with more people each day, rather than my therapies where I am treating clients one-to-one. I am obviously immensely grateful to my clients over the years, and there have been hundreds! Without my salons, therapies and energy work, I wouldn't be where I am now.
The art side of my work is really powerful, with pieces often being created over auspicious times in our calendar. Very often I'm unaware of the actually timing, until completion and the work is released! There is some inner guidance that I'm learning to work with and harness!
Back in the summer, I created a piece that looked very tribal.
She was monochrome and emerged around a full moon. I took her to be framed, but nothing really worked. Framing is hugely important! My amazing framer looked at so many options, but everything felt off, so I brought her home while he sourced some new frame options from different suppliers.
She sat in the studio for ages. I'd walk by almost shrugging my shoulders, unable to see where I could go next. Until a few weeks ago!
She Emerged!
A subtle transformation at first with a little gold and shadowing. Then a teeny smudge of deep pink. Not much, just a smidge. Magic started to happen.
There was always a snake inside her, but only I could see her placement. Now she started to rise!
It wasn't until she came to the forefront that I realised we were in the year of the snake. My skin was doing really weird things and it was like everything was starting to shed.
More snakes can be seen when you look deeply into the whole canvas. The one you can see in the close up below is the one that showed herself at the beginning.

Now we move on.
It really feels like we are ending more than just a year. We are completing a nine year cycle, and I'm sure you can see there are many truths being told and seen all around the world. Things are beginning to really shift.
If you've had a shitty year, things are about to change. Leave all of that behind you. Allow for gratitude for what it has shown you, and gratitude for what is coming. We approach the year of the horse!
If this piece speaks to you and you are interested in her, just let me know. I still feel she needs framing, so I doubt I will have her ready until after Christmas, but she can obviously be reserved!
